I love this so much...really cool vibe, love how you thought out the mission, really nice :D

The part at 1:09 feels a bit too empty adding a bit more sorrow(some sad pads or piano or maybe some more scary dissonance) to it could make it more impactful.

Sound wise i feel like the bass could be a little quieter(or maybe distorted less) cause it clips a bit, turning those parts of the song into some noise mush.

Also if you will work on this even further and would like to get more feedback you can join the discord server mentioned in VGMC thread.

mrSPYcheck responds:

Thank you very much for raiting my music. I'll note this for future. And about the server - i'll join, but later.

Oh boy, i like this piece, but sadly im not sure i can really count it since its not about the mission given to the musician in my story.

The goal is to make a song based on the upcoming mission to destroy the main energy source of Bastion. So i guess you will have to either rearrange or make a new one.

Anyway for this, the intro really has that kinda videogame-y vibe to it and it feels like you are in a lobby(the ship) where you accept quests and go on various missions.

I think the song already has basically everything it needs to tell the story its about maybe adding some sort of variation into the second drop might make it feel like you reached your maximum speed and all the stars around you just move in that typical movie warp scene XD

at 3:11 it starts to clip... which happens to me too, often XD maybe lowering the sub? or sidechaining the sub might make it better and less muddy.

As i said the song is really nice but i cant count it cause its not about the mission.

Voytek-Music responds:

I understand that you dont count it. Actually, there's no clipping - it's just a drone synth in the background that might sound like some sort of clipping using a low quality headphones or any other sound device. I will just rearrange the second drop is it ok?

Quality stuff here, love it.

Really cool piece, i like the idea(it reminds me a bit of Parasyte anime XD especially at 1:45 when the synth gets introduced)...piano sounds really cool with effects you put on it.

maybe the chords could be a bit more complex(but in cinematic music, simplicity is maybe the strongest feat)

The song clips at peak parts and(which feels more annoying)in calm parts...funnily enough that is an issue i had in my last song XD

I would recommend lowering the volume of the song or if youre running it through limiter, lower the gain.

if that would not solve the calm parts clipping then, maybe trying to automate volume of piano itself...or edit note velocity at the points it gets the loudest.

Theres alot of potencial, just getting that clipping and volume/loudness under control and oh boy. I kinda had the opposite when my songs were mostly too quiet so i had to care about clipping just, well not that far in the past XD

In the end this is a really cool cinematic piece i love it.

Scaur09 responds:

Hey Arponax ! Thanks for your review !
I'm going to fix the velocity and extend a bit the song. I hope you're gonna listen to the final version ! See you !

really well done track...when it hits 1:12 it feels like it doesnt stop and just gets more dense i absolutely love that...the bass is simple and lovely, drums are mysterious (maybe if they were less in front or a bit more "cloudy" it would make the feel stronger...but thats my perception), oh boy that guitar.

Deserved Frontpage.

I will have to listen to this once more sometime.

PixxlMan responds:

Thank you! Glad you like it :)

A nice little song...the chorus feels underwhelming...but surprisingly not in a bad way XD the song kinda slides into it seamlessly.

the bass is stable throughout that transition which is very interesting to me...cause typically when you try to make a drop/chorus you atleast make the bass more subtle to add a little more tension to the buildup.

very cool, me likey. I love the part at 1:17 the most.

Dynamic0 responds:

Thanks Arponax!
This song is more focused on the verses than the choruses, I know it's unusual.
The basses are here more because it sounds weird when they are not here...
Thanks again, 1:17 is also my favorite part.

Well, this feels like a very unique, unusual piece of art XD
i dont think ive ever heard a fusion of opera with breakcore(not that ive heard much of it) and hardcore? but here we go :D

The composition feels very abstract i like it, its not something one would listen to on daily basis but boy i respect the creativity. (also it got FPed, nice GJ)

Good luck with AIM im sure it will place high.

chipsqueek responds:

haha thanks dude, goodluck with AIM as well! I was listening to a lot of Igorrr and Fleshgod Apocalypse before working on this so if you wanna do a deep dive into some operatic breakcore, or even operatic black metal, Igorrr is where it's at!

This was a ride, i enjoyed it quite alot.
I think maybe the lead synths and other stuff might feel more space-y?

This might just be a personal preference, cause i neither make or listen too much to psytrance (my biggest knowledge of this comes from Infected mushroom) but for me, psytrance is kinda supposed to feel a little bit "overwhelming"? with all the sounds and layers...so your brain has alot of work with actually finding what those layers are and stuff.

Aside from that i feel like this is pretty solid track and it was enjoyable i didnt realised i was listening for 6 minutes....great job.

burningmagma responds:

Thanks so much for your feedback! ;)

Oh yes, even on april fools you didnt dissapoint :D great job.

Congrats my brotha :D we indeed did it.

Awesome track :D

Not bounded by genre i'm exploring new ways to create music. I try to make interesting music that is fun to listen to.
